Vijayashanti reacts to her role in 'Akhanda 2'

Vijayashanti, who once shone as a lady superstar in Tollywood, made a re-entry after a gap of five years with the movie ‘Sarileru Neekevvaru’. After that, she played the role of Nandamuri Kalyan Ram’s mother in the recently released movie “Arjun Son of Vyjayanthi”. This movie made her famous.

“I am very happy with the response to this film. I have played a powerful role with action. The audience wanted to see me in such a role. Director Pradeep has created the role that I wanted. My fans were not completely satisfied with my previous film, but this film has truly fulfilled their expectations,” she said.

Even though she recently took oath as an MLC in the Telangana Legislative Assembly, there are speculations that she may act in more films. There are rumors that she will play a key role in Nandamuri Balakrishna's "Akhanda 2". It is reported that director Boyapati Srinu has created a special role for her and is planning to show the Balakrishna-Vijayashanti pair on screen again.

However, Vijayashanti responded with a laugh to the news of her acting in “Akhanda 2”. “I didn’t know that I was acting in ‘Akhanda 2’. I didn’t know anything about this news until you told me,” she said. Balakrishna and Vijayashanti have given many hit films together in the 1980s and 1990s. They are the most successful couple in Telugu cinema. They last acted together in the film “Nippu Ravva” in 1993.
