Unni Mukundan to hold megaphone for the first time

Malayalam film actor Unni Mukundan is soon going to turn director. Unni, who is stepping behind the camera for the first time, will be directing a superhero film. The story of the film is being provided by Midhun Manuel Thomas, a director who is popular for hit films like ‘Anjam Padira, Abraham Ozler, Aadu’.

Gokulam Gopalan is producing this project under the banner of Sri Gokulam Movies. There is already talk that this film will be the most expensive and prestigious film produced by this banner so far. The project is in the pre-production stage and the shooting will begin next year. Unni shared this news on social media with an emotional statement that made his heart wet.

"I have been very fond of superheroes since I was a child. Even though many people say that they are fictional, I used to see hope and identity in their stories. I used to see my heroes in books, movies, folktales, even small action figures. That child has grown up but has not given up on his dreams. Today, he is silently and proudly taking a step forward. He is going to tell the story that he has been hiding in his heart for years.

This film will be released on a pan-India level, in multiple languages. It is an attempt to take a new path for superhero films with regional stories. Unni is currently shooting for a Telugu film. Only after the completion of that project will he fully focus on his dream of directing. At the same time, director Midhun is also busy with the script work for ‘Aadu 3’.
