Boney Kapoor clarifies on 'Baahubali' offer
‘Baahubali’, released in 2015, is a milestone in the history of Indian cinema. Each character in the film has a unique identity. Ramya Krishna’s performance as Sivagami is especially unforgettable. But there were reports at that time that the role was first offered to the late Sridevi.
However, her husband Boney Kapoor recently denied the rumors that she made various demands and wanted an entire hotel floor. In his words, ‘The amount offered by the producers of Baahubali is less than the remuneration of Sridevi for her previous film ‘English Vinglish’. Why should she accept less when she is such a crazed actress? At least the remuneration should be more than that film.’
He also said that small misunderstandings with the producers of ‘Baahubali’ were the reason for Sridevi’s withdrawal from the project. However, in the end, Ramya Krishna’s role as Sivagami got a very good name.
On the other hand.. Boney Kapoor shared many interesting details about Sridevi's last film 'Mom' in his latest interview. When Sridevi insisted on casting AR Rahman for the film, the budget problem arose due to his high remuneration. Boney said that Sridevi was ready to give up about Rs. 70 lakhs from her remuneration.
'Maidan', directed by 'Badai Ho' fame Amit Sharma, starring Ajay Devgn as the hero, is Boney Kapoor's dream project. The life of Indian football legend Syed Abdul Rahim has been brought to the screen. However, the budget of this film has become a big problem. The film, which was planned to be made with a budget of Rs. 120 crores, eventually went up to Rs. 210 crores due to the disruption of schedules due to Covid. Unexpected expenses like the destruction of the set due to the cyclone have shaken Boney Kapoor a lot. Despite receiving critical acclaim, the film 'Maidan' made a huge loss at the box office, collecting just Rs. 68 crore
