Ram Gopal Varma, Director of Ongole Rural PS

Director Ram Gopal Varma has once again appeared for questioning at the Ongole Rural Police Station in Prakasam district. A case was registered against him at the Maddipadu Police Station in November last year. In that case, there are allegations that he morphed photos of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan and Minister Nara Lokesh and posted them on social media. The police said that he posted these photos during the promotion of the film ‘Vyuham’.

Verma was granted bail by the High Court in this case. However, as per the bail conditions, he must appear for the police questioning. In the first questioning held in February this year, Verma was questioned for more than five hours. He was accompanied by his lawyer at that time. He admitted that he had posted the photos from his ex-account (Twitter).

On August 12, 2025, at 11 am, Verma again came to the Ongole Rural PS and appeared for questioning. The questioning was conducted under the supervision of CI Srikanth. On this occasion, the police seized his cellphone. The police also asked questions about financial transactions in which he allegedly received approximately Rs. 2 crore through Fibernet.
