Police crackdown on betting apps

The police are cracking down on betting apps on the orders of the Telangana government. In the wake of 15 suicides in the past year, details of the victims have been collected and 15 cases have been registered.108 websites operating illegally have already been blocked, while notices have been issued to another 133 betting platforms.

The investigation into celebrity promotions is ongoing. While actors like Vijay and Rana say they promoted skill-based games, the police are trying to uncover details from new angles. Influencers, YouTubers, and actors have been questioned, and it is reported that some are absconding.The police focused on how movie celebrities received money through these apps.
