Petition filed in High Court against Pawan Kalyan
Former IAS officer Vijay Kumar has filed a petition in the High Court against Andhra Pradesh Deputy CM and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan. He alleged that government funds were used for the promotion of the movie 'Harihara Veeramallu'. In the petition, he sought a CBI inquiry into the matter.
The High Court, which heard the petition on Monday, ordered the registry to include the names of the CBI and ACB lawyers in the case's investigation list. The hearing was adjourned for a week. While the petitioner's lawyer requested that notices be given to the child defendants, the court clarified that that stage has not yet come. The High Court clarified that appropriate orders will be passed after the preliminary hearing.
It is wrong to act in movies without paying attention to public service as a Deputy CM. In his petition, Vijay Kumar stated that he should explain how the ticket rates of the movie 'Harihara Veeramallu' were increased, benefit shows and special shows were allowed. He wrote a letter to the Chief Secretary and DG of the Anti-Corruption Department on this matter. They demanded action under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
