The Telugu film industry is set to go on strike from August 1. The strike seems inevitable after the talks between the Film Chamber and Telugu Film Federation leaders on wage hike failed.

The trade unions of the Telugu Film Federation have mentioned the agreement to implement a 30 percent wage hike every three years. The previous agreement expired on June 30. However, in the latest talks, the Film Chamber has announced that it will increase wages by only 5 percent. The federation has made it clear that this is not entirely acceptable to them and that they will attend the shootings of the films of producers who have increased their wages by 30 percent as they demanded.

In the wake of these developments, trade unions and Film Chamber representatives will meet again tomorrow (July 31) at 11:30 am at Karmika Bhavan in Hyderabad. The entire industry is focused on the outcome of these talks. If there are no signs of resolving the issues... there are chances that the film workers will go on strike from August 1.
