Bandi Sanjay's counter to Congress criticism

Update: 2025-08-26 13:44 GMT

As part of the Congress party's Janhita Padayatra, PCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud alleged that BJP leaders won with stolen votes. Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay reacted strongly to these comments.

Bandi Sanjay said that the Congress party is currently in power. If we really think that there are stolen votes, let's remove them and go for elections. He challenged that if the Congress wins, I will take political sannyas.

Also, the people of Karimnagar made him win with a majority of 2 lakh 25 thousand. He severely criticized the Congress party for insulting such people by saying that they cast stolen votes. He also commented that if Congress leaders are seen, people get angry and throw stones at them. Bandi Sanjay said that the Congress is the only party that has not given a single paisa to the panchayats in its 20 months of rule. The central government is providing funds to the panchayats. He alleged that now they are looking to hold local body elections only for those funds.

He also mocked PCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud and said, "What does Mahesh Goud, who could not even win as a ward member, know about fraudulent votes? He was the one who called him BC once, and now he is the one who calls him Deshmukh. If you forget the same thing and repeat it again and again, it reminds you of the movie Ghajini." Bandi Sanjay once again criticized the Congress. Even when they nominated a BC person as the Vice Presidential candidate, the Congress party tried to defeat it. He said that the beggars who go to mosques and wear hats and ask for votes when elections come are Congress leaders. Bandi Sanjay clarified that the Hindu vote bank is the reason for his victory with a huge majority in Karimnagar and that he will make the Hindu vote bank strong in Telangana too. He said that the BJP will fight for the protection of Hindu society and Sanatana Dharma whether there are elections or not. Responding to the Congress' criticism of the Rohingya issue, he said that all the Rohingyas who came to Telangana came before 2014. The Congress was in power at that time. It was Congress that also gave them ration cards and voter cards. He said that all this was done for vote bank. The ones who speak without knowing the facts are the Congress and BRS leaders. They are trying to mislead the people," he commented.
