Will work as an Uber driver after retirement: Fahadh Faasil

In this era where stars are active on social media and flaunt their lifestyle with luxury gadgets, Fahadh Faasil is known for keeping his personal life simple and low-profile. Recently, a photo of him with a virtual mobile phone with a keypad went viral on social media. Calling it a “dumb phone”, Fahadh also explained why he stays away from social media or WhatsApp. He also reiterated his plan to work as an Uber driver in Barcelona after retirement.

In his latest interview, Fahad said, “I have been using a dumb phone since last year. I have completely lost access to the internet. In the next two years, I will only be reachable through email. Initially, I was on social media, but I couldn’t handle it properly. I didn’t know what to post or what to reply to. One thing is clear, I don’t post any of my personal photos or any photos from my house. So, I only give updates about my career. Now I don’t have social media, I don’t even have WhatsApp. I don’t feel like I’m missing anything. I don’t feel disconnected from Gen-G because I’m making good films. If I start making crappy films any day, then I feel disconnected from this generation.”

In an interview in 2020, Fahadh said that he wants to work as an Uber driver in Barcelona after retirement. When asked if that plan was still there, he said: “Absolutely. We were in Barcelona a few months ago. For that to happen, it has to happen after people have left me, you know? Jokes aside, taking someone from one place to another, seeing them through to their destination… it feels so beautiful. I still do that whenever I get the chance. Not just driving, but watching my favorite game, sport or TV… doing whatever I like,” said Fahadh.
