Songs were once very important elements in movies. Even after the release of a movie, movie makers would sometimes add new songs to lure the audience back to the theaters. If they were given a place regardless of the story, you can understand how important they were. But now things have changed. Today's audience wants interesting stories without interruption. If a song does not fit the story, it can ruin the flow of the movie and reduce its impact.

Although movie makers still spend a lot of money on shooting songs in foreign locations, directors are being more careful during editing. If they feel that the song does not fit the story, they remove it even after spending crores to shoot it. This trend has become more common in recent years.

Pawan Kalyan's latest film 'OG' has been released as the latest. In this film directed by Sujeeth, Pawan Kalyan appeared in a powerful and stylish role, which is what fans were hoping to see. The film received a positive response. However, one thing caught the attention. Neha Shetty shot for a special song in Bangkok in December 2024 for 'OG'. She also shared glimpses of the song on social media. However, the song is not in the final film. In a recent press meet, Sujeeth and music director Thaman confirmed that they never announced the release of the song and that it will not be released later.

A similar thing happened in the case of 'Mirai'. Directed by Karthik Ghattamaneni, the film had a song in Sri Lanka starring Nidhi Agarwal. But the film unit decided that the song did not suit the action-adventure mood of the film, which has mythological elements. Karthik confirmed that the song will not be released now, but that it may be considered for use in the sequel 'Mirai.. Jaitraya'.

These incidents show that the filmmakers are now giving more importance to the storyline than the songs. For them, it became more important to engage the audience with the story rather than adding star-studded songs.
