'Tandel' February blockbuster!

February is generally considered as an off season in the film industry. While Sankranti movies continue to air in January, the audience declines in March due to exams. But, this trend is changing. More than a dozen films were released in February this year and attracted the audience.
Ajith's dubbed film 'Pattudala' was released on February 6 and was a major disappointment. Apart from the weak content, the film was a complete failure at the box office due to lack of promotion. At the same time, Naga Chaitanya's 'Tandel' released on February 7, targeting Valentine's Day and became a blockbuster due to the success of the songs. Despite the piracy problem, the film entered the first hundred crore club of Chaitanya's career.
The Valentine's Day films 'Laila' and 'Brahma Anandam’ failed to impress as expected. Due to the negative reviews of the movie 'Laila', hero Vishwak had to apologize openly. On the other hand, 'Ramam Raghavam' directed by Dhan Raj was not a big box office hit, but it got critical acclaim.
The dubbing films of 'Dragon, Jabilamma Neeku Antha Kopama' which came out in the third week of February attracted the youth. Of these, 'Dragon' has collected well. The movie 'Bapu' starring Brahmaji in the lead role failed to attract the audience to the theatres.
Sandeep Kishan's movie 'Mazaka' released in the last week of February. Directed by Trinadha Rao Nakkina, this movie got good openings. Producers are hoping that the collections will improve in the weekend.Aadi Pinishetti's last released film 'Shabdham' was expected to be a 'Vaishali'-like success, but failed to impress at that level.
