Suresh Gopi sets big controversy to 'Empuraan' in Parliament

Some films rarely lead to political debates and even become the center of discussion in Parliament. However, in the case of ‘Empuran’, this rare topic is now really causing a big controversy. The controversy surrounding this film has led to discussions not only on social media but also in Parliament. Recently.. Kerala BJP MP and film hero Suresh Gopi.. commented that the film ‘Empuran’ is a conspiracy-filled film. The intention behind his comments is that the film contains scenes that are against Hinduism and promote Muslim supremacy.
Speaking about the re-censorship of the film, Suresh Gopi said that there was no pressure on the makers and they voluntarily edited some scenes and re-screened them. He said that this was entirely their decision and that although there were no orders from the government, they took steps to prevent further controversies. On the other hand, Vatakara Congress MP Shafi Parambil mentioned another aspect. According to him, superstar Mohanlal was forced to apologize due to the fake attacks on his family. He said that the criticism and attacks on this film seem to question the freedom of the individual in our country.
One of the main criticisms of this film is that it shows Muslim supremacy and negatively portrays Hindu riots. That is why this film has led to a big debate at the national level. Public representatives have also been divided into two camps here. It is no exaggeration to say that with the film ‘Empuraan’, a new debate has started in our country on the freedom of cinema, its entry into the political arena, and social responses.
