Suresh Gopi and Anupama's movie is finally going to be released.

After weeks of legal battles and uncertainty, Union Minister of State for Tourism Suresh Gopi's latest film 'Janaki. V vs State of Kerala' has been cleared by the Central Board of Film Certification, paving the way for its release.
The film was originally titled 'Janaki vs State of Kerala'. Citing the provisions of Section 5B(2) of the Cinematograph Act, the CBFC objected to the use of the name "Janaki" in the title. The production company challenged this in the Kerala High Court. This led to a legal battle that gained considerable popularity.
After three rounds of hearings, the producers, who were initially reluctant to change the title, agreed to change the title to 'Janaki. V vs State of Kerala' with minor changes in the hearing on July 9. Initially, the CBFC suggested 96 cuts, but after multiple discussions, this was reduced to just two cuts. Additionally, two dialogues were muted. After the revised version was resubmitted on Saturday, the CBFC immediately issued a certificate.
The Kerala High Court had earlier directed the CBFC to issue a certificate within three days of receiving the final version. The next court hearing is scheduled for July 16. However, the production team has expressed interest in holding the hearing earlier, saying that a lot of time has already been wasted due to the delay. The film was initially scheduled to release on June 27, but if the final procedural clearances are completed, it will be released in theatres on July 18.
