Supreme Court cancels Darshan's bail

The Supreme Court has recently issued a sensational verdict canceling the bail granted to Kannada star hero Darshan in the fan murder case that created a sensation in the Kannada film industry. The court has ordered the immediate arrest of Darshan, his partner Pavitra Gowda and five other accused.

A bench of Justice R. Mahadevan and Justice J.B. Pardiwala ruled that the Karnataka High Court's previous bail decision was wrong. Emphasizing that "no one is above the law", the court ordered the trial to be expedited and the examination of witnesses to be completed quickly.

Darshan is one of the most popular actors in the Kannada film industry. He was previously released on bail. On June 11, 2024, Darshan, Pavitra Gowda and 15 others were arrested on charges of kidnapping and brutally murdering a fan named Renukaswamy from Chitradurga.
