Sukumar - Karthi combo is awesome!

With the huge success of "Pushpa 2", Sukumar has further cemented his place among the top most directors in India. Currently, he is increasing his presence by attending various film industry events like Bollywood and Kollywood. At a recent award ceremony in Chennai, Sukumar was faced with an interesting question. "If you get the opportunity to make a big film in Tamil cinema, which actor would you choose?" the reporters asked.

While he responded in Telugu, S.J. Surya translated it in Tamil. "To be honest, I have not seen many Vijay films. Similarly, I have not seen many Ajith films. But I like Karthi a lot. His face tells a lot. So I prefer Karthi," Sukumar said. However, S.J. Surya translated this comment with minor changes. In his translation, it seemed as if Sukumar had chosen Vijay, Ajith and Karthi for a Tamil film on a grand scale.

Karthi is not a big newcomer to the Telugu audience. He has created a special fan base in Telugu through the movie "Oopiri". Moreover, since Karthi's movies are mostly dubbed in Telugu, he has become closer to the Telugu audience than Vijay and Ajith. Vijay and Ajith's movies have not been released in Telugu on the level of Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan. That is why many people naturally feel that Sukumar is showing special interest in Karthi.
