Sudeep refused the best actor award ..reason?

Kiccha Sudeep is a Kannada star hero who is known to the Telugu audience for films like Eega and Baahubali. Recently he was in the news with his decision. Although the Karnataka government nominated Sudeep for the Best Actor Award for the year 2019, he refused to accept the honour.

This award was announced to Sudeep for his excellent performance in the 2019 sports drama movie 'Pailwan'. The Government of Karnataka announced the State Annual Film Awards 2019 on January 22, 2025.Sudeep was selected in the Best Actor category and Anupama Gowda who acted in the film 'Trayambakam' was selected in the Best Actress category.

However, Sudeep rejected the award. Responding through his X account, he said, "My sincere thanks to the honorable Karnataka Government and Jury members. It was a great honor to receive the award. However, I have not received any awards for many years due to personal reasons.He said that hethink this decision should be continued.

Explaining the reason for his decision, Sudeep said that he would have been happier if a deserving actor other than himself received the award. "There are so many wonderful actors who have given life to acting. My mission is to please the audience regardless of the awards," he said.

Saying that he is sorry if anyone is unhappy with his decision, Sudeep clarified that the recognition of the jury members is equivalent to a very big reward for him. His clear and honest decision on the awards won the hearts of fans.
