'Sitare Zameen Par' will be released in theatres only: Aamir Khan

Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan is currently in the news for his new film ‘Sitare Zameen Par’. The audience is eagerly waiting for this film, which is being made as a sequel to his super hit film ‘Taare Zameen Par’. The film is set to release in theaters on June 20. On this occasion, Aamir Khan clarified in an interview that the film is not being released on OTT platforms, good films should be watched in theaters, only then the audience will get a real cinematic experience.
Speaking, Aamir Khan said that the growth of OTT platforms is harming the culture of watching movies in theaters. He said that releasing movies quickly on OTT is reducing people from coming to theaters, which is not good for the entertainment medium of cinema. I have not seen such a policy in any business. The current situation is that some films become huge successes or most of them fail completely, and he believes that releasing them quickly on OTT is weakening the theater culture.
That is why he said that he has decided to release his next film ‘Sitare Zameen Par’ only in theatres. “I have faith in theatres. I have faith in my audience. If you make a good film, people will definitely come to watch it on the big screen,” he said. Although many suggested him to do an action film after ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’, he said that the story of Sitare Zameen Par moved him deeply and if such stories are in his blood, he cannot ignore them. He said that the same was the case with films like Lagaan, Taare Zameen Par and Dangal.
