Veteran director Vivek Agnihotri has made a sensational announcement that the third installment of his blockbuster Files trilogy has been officially titled ‘The Delhi Files: The Bengal Chapter’. The film, which was initially announced as ‘The Delhi Files: The Bengal Chapter’, will now be released as ‘The Bengal Files: Right to Live’. Vivek himself said that the change in title is due to audience feedback. He revealed through social media platforms that the suggestions and opinions of the fans played a key role in shaping the new title.

The film revolves around the heartbreaking communal violence that took place in undivided Bengal in the 1940s. The film explores historical events like the Direct Action Day and the Noakhali riots in depth. These events have become one of the most brutal and least discussed chapters in Indian history. Vivek Agnihotri, in his own style, will boldly and subtly portray these events on screen.

The film ‘The Bengal Files: Right to Live’ is set to hit the theatres on September 5, 2025. The film stars Bollywood veterans Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, and Pallavi Joshi in lead roles. Their acting chops, as seen in Vivek’s previous films, will add more strength to the film. Vivek, who has made Indian cinema audiences think with the films ‘The Kashmir Files’ and ‘The Tashkent Files’, will once again bring to light the hidden aspects of history with this new film.
