Rana, Manchu Lakshmi seek time extension

The betting app promotion case is rocking Tollywood. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has issued notices to prominent actors Rana Daggubati, Vijay Deverakonda, Manchu Lakshmi and Prakash Raj in this matter.

The ED had ordered Rana to appear for questioning on July 23, but he sought time due to his shooting schedule. Manchu Lakshmi was also supposed to appear for questioning on August 13, but she revealed that she would not appear on that day. Prakash Raj will appear for questioning on July 30 and Vijay Deverakonda on August 6.

The case is being investigated based on money laundering cases registered at Panjagutta, Miyapur, Suryapet and Visakhapatnam police stations. ECIRs have been registered against a total of 29 film actors, YouTubers and social media influencers.

Recently, the ED has also sent notices to Google and Meta. The investigation into the promotion of betting apps on platforms like YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, ShareChat, and X is also ongoing. The ED has ordered the collection of agreements made by celebrities regarding the promotion and their bank details.
