Rajinikanth's 'Coolie' to be released on OTT

Superstar Rajinikanth's latest movie 'Coolie'. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, this movie is just entering OTT. Four weeks after its theatrical release on August 14, the movie will be streaming on Amazon Prime Video in the second week of September. Despite earning over Rs 500 crore worldwide, the movie is considered a moderate success.

The theatrical run in Tamil Nadu and Telugu states did not perform as expected due to mixed response. However, Rajinikanth's star power has achieved this huge collection. The movie is likely to breathe new life into the OTT release. Especially for the audience who do not go to theaters. Prime Video, which has acquired the streaming rights, is planning to premiere the movie next week.

However, the official announcement has not come yet. Rajinikanth played a dual-shaded character in "Coolie", produced by Sun Pictures on a huge budget. Shruti Haasan and Sathyaraj appear in key roles. Anirudh Ravichander has composed the music. Rajinikanth's films usually achieve high viewership on digital platforms.. Despite the mixed response in the theatrical, the producers are hoping that "Coolie" will perform well on OTT. And it remains to be seen in what range 'Coolie' will work its magic on OTT.
