Rajinikanth in Kannappa?

Manchu Vishnu's 'Kannappa' is gearing up for release on June 27. Based on the life of Shiva devotee Kannappa, the film stars Prabhas, Mohan Babu, Mohanlal, Akshay Kumar and Kajal Aggarwal in key guest roles. The shooting has already been completed and Vishnu, who is busy with promotions, recently shared interesting things about Kannappa in an interview.
Speaking, Vishnu said that he created a special character with Mohan Babu and superstar Rajinikanth was considered for that role. But the writers felt that it would become a track unrelated to the story and had to remove that character.
Talking about the reason behind choosing Prabhas – 'When it came to choosing one of the two characters, Prabhas showed interest in the role of Rudra. We showed him in the form of Rudra instead of Shiva. "You will understand why we chose him only after watching the film," he revealed.
Sharing an interesting incident related to the censor board – "When I sent a lyrical video to the censor board, they asked, 'Is there any evidence that Kannappa has a love story?'" He said. In fact, Kannappa has a wife, Neela. They were surprised when I told them that.
Talking about his personal journey – "My childhood dream was to become an actor. But I am not handsome. I used to ask God to give me one chance. Acting is my life. But running a university and a school is a responsibility given by my father." Sharing his business vision – "Our university should become a brand like Tata and Reliance. That is my dream."
