Malayalam star Prithviraj Sukumaran impressed the Telugu audience with 'Salar'. He is currently acting in SSMB 29. Prithviraj is very cautious about films in other languages. If his role does not have a strong significance, he usually stays away from outside projects. Now his latest film 'Vilayat Buddha' is getting ready for release. The teaser of this film has been released in Telugu as well as other pan-Indian languages.

The teaser reminds many of the film 'Pushpa' from the first frame to the last shot. Moreover, in one scene, a police officer mocks the hero and asks, "Do you think I'm Pushpa?" To which Prithviraj replies, "He is international, I am local." Such scenes have raised suspicions among fans as to why Prithviraj has chosen a film similar to 'Pushpa'.

To understand this... you need to know about the novel 'Vilayat Buddha' written by Malayalam writer GR Indugopan in 2020. This novel became a huge success and sold out. As for the story... a school teacher secretly grows a very rare and valuable sandalwood tree in his backyard. A smuggler finds the tree... and wants to make crores by cutting it down. The twist is... the smuggler is a former student of the teacher. The conflict between them soon spreads to the entire village. Finally, it gets connected to the mafia.
