Kalyani Priyadarshan, daughter of famous Malayalam director Priyadarshan and yesteryear heroine Lizzie, kicked off her acting career with Telugu films. She made her debut with Akhil Akkineni in the movie “Hello” directed by Vikram Kumar. But, it didn’t click much. After that, she did only one other movie called “Chitralahari” with Sai Dharam Tej. After that.. Kalyani focused fully on her motherwood, Mollywood.

After doing eight Malayalam movies.. she recently hit the jackpot with “Lokah: Chapter 1 Chandra” produced by Dulquer Salmaan. This movie became a blockbuster in Kerala.. and created a sensation abroad as well. It was released in Telugu as “Kotha Loka” and collected well in Andhra and Telangana.

However... the Malayalam version has collected over Rs. 200 crore worldwide and has made it to the top Malayalam grossers. With this mega hit, 32-year-old Kalyani has suddenly reached stardom level. Her performance in the female superhero role in the film has made her the next female superstar. Now there is a chance that big offers from Tollywood and Bollywood will knock on her door.
