State Culture and Cinematography Minister Kandula Durgesh responded to the decision of exhibitors and distributors to close cinema theaters from June 1. He said that a full-scale inquiry will be conducted on this issue under the leadership of the Principal Secretary of the Home Department. He clarified that decisions that are beneficial to the industry will be taken based on the facts after the inquiry.

Speaking at a media conference held at the Rajahmundry Camp Office on Saturday, the Minister explained that the state government is providing full support to the film industry and has already taken appropriate steps in matters such as increasing ticket rates and issuing shooting permits. He revealed that a new film policy will be implemented soon.

He expressed doubts about the announcement of the theaters' bandh in the wake of the release of Pawan Kalyan's 'Harihara Veeramallu' on June 12.
