Mohanlal got a hat trick

Malayalam superstar Mohanlal has achieved a rare hat-trick. The National Award-winning legend's latest family entertainer 'Hrudayapurvam' has entered the Rs. 50 crore gross club worldwide. With this, Mohanlal has created a record by becoming the first actor in the Malayalam industry to have three consecutive Rs. 50 crore grossers.

Mohanlal's previous films 'L2: Empuraan, Thudarum' have grossed over Rs. 200 crore. Currently, Lok: Chapter 1 is running strong at the box office. However, Malayalam trade analysts estimate that the chances of 'Hrudayapurvam' crossing the Rs. 100 crore milestone in its entire run are slightly less. If it crosses this milestone, it will become Mohanlal's third consecutive Rs. 100 crore grosser.

The feel-good drama 'Hrudayapoorvam' is unlikely to attract a large audience due to its lack of mass appeal. The family audience is also likely to decrease after the Onam festival weekend. Ultimately, the box office success of the film will depend entirely on Mohanlal's star power. 'Hrudayapoorvam' stars Malavika Mohanan, Sangeeth Pratap and Sangeeth Madhavan Nair in key roles. The film is directed by renowned Malayalam director Sathyan Antikkad and produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirvaad Cinemas.
