Modi should rule India for another 20 years: Ilayaraja

Renowned music director Maestro Ilaiyaraaja recently shared his experiences with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi while chatting with host Sarath Bhattathiripad on the GDP podcast. He recalled the occasion when he met Prime Minister Modi after presenting his first Western Classical Symphony in London. Responding to a question from the host, Ilaiyaraaja said, "I have never met Modi ji in person. Modi ji wished me on my 80th birthday over the phone."

Later, he revealed that he had met Prime Minister Modi in person when he received the Padma Vibhushan award. "It was a great surprise for me to receive the Padma Vibhushan... it was because of Modi ji's kindness. He showed a lot of sympathy for me," he said. He recalled that he was unable to express his happiness when the award was announced.
