Malayalam thriller ‘Ronth’ to hit OTT

After releasing in theaters on June 13.. exactly 39 days later.. Dileesh Pothan and Roshan Mathew starrer "Ronth" is getting ready for its digital premiere. The film will be streaming on JioHotstar from July 22. It will be available in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada languages. The film is written and directed by Shahi Kabir. This is his second directorial film. He won the Kerala State Award for Best Debut Director with his first film "Ela Veela Poonchira".

Shahi has previously written scripts for films like "Joseph", "Naayattu", and "Officer on Duty". Like Shahi's previous films, "Ronth" also shows the anguish of the lives of police officers. The story revolves around an experienced police officer (Dileesh) and a newly recruited rookie (Roshan). The story revolves around ideological differences between the two and a strong socio-political commentary. The film received mostly positive reviews in theaters. The performances of the two lead actors were especially praised.

The film stars Arun Cherukavil, Lakshmi Menon, Krisha Kurup, and Jithin Puthenchery in key roles. The music was composed by Anil Johnson, cinematography by Manish Madhavan, and editing by Praveen Mangalat. The film was jointly produced by Vineet Jain, Ratheesh Ambat, Ranjith EVM, and Jojo Jose under the banners of Festival Cinemas and Junglee Pictures.
