Kangana-Javed Akhtar feud ends

Ending the five-year long court case, actress and politician Kangana Ranaut and noted writer Javed Akhtar have withdrawn their claims against each other. Announcing this on her social media, Kangana shared a picture of herself with Javed Akhtar.

“ Javed ji and I have settled our legal dispute through arbitration. Javed ji was very kind and courteous in this process. Also, he has agreed to write songs for my next directorial,” Kangana said in her post.

In 2020, Javed Akhtar filed a lawsuit against Kangana for defaming him. It is alleged that she made misleading comments about her in a TV interview which damaged her reputation not only in India but also abroad.The controversy started after the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput.

In response to this, Kangana also filed a complaint against Javed Akhtar, accusing him of coercing her and violating her privacy. However, eventually both ended the dispute by mutual consent and made peace.
