I will play the mother of star heroes, but..: Shriya Saran

Shriya Saran... With her killer physique and charm that makes her look forever young, she easily gives off the vibe of a thirties even though she is in her forties. That is why she is still ruling the fashion campaigns and magazine covers. At the same time, she does not shy away from roles that require maturity. She played the mother of Teja Sajja in “Mirai”. Earlier, she played the wife of Ajay Devgan and the mother of Ram Charan in Rajamouli’s “RRR”. Although the screen time with Ram Charan was less.. she showed her weight in the story with that role.

Speaking about “Mirai”, Shriya said.. “I have no objection to playing the mother roles of young stars. But there is one condition.. those roles should have depth and impact...” Shriya, who entered the film industry with the Telugu movie “Ishtam” in 2001, has had a journey of more than two decades and is now focusing on deeper and more meaningful roles.

For the last three to four years, Shriya has concentrated on mature characters. In 2022, she played Ajay Devgan’s wife in “RRR”. In 2023, she appeared in the Kannada period action drama “Kabja”. She also played a key role in the Tamil movie “Naragasooran”. Now, in 2025, she is playing Teja Sajja’s mother in “Mirai”. She says that she is ready to experiment with such characters.
