Gaddar Awards on June 14

The Congress government is taking significant steps to promote the film industry in Telangana. As part of this, it is noteworthy that special awards have been launched in the name of popular singer Gaddar. State Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka has revealed that not only Telugu films but also Urdu films will be encouraged.
Speaking at the Gaddar Telangana Film Awards media conference held at the Prasad Preview Theater in Hyderabad, he said, "It is a matter of pride to give awards in the name of Gaddar, who gave life to the Telangana movement. This will bring new vitality to the film industry."
These awards will be held grandly at HICC on June 14. Telangana Film Development Corporation Chairman Dil Raju said that all arrangements for the event are being completed. A 15-member jury headed by actress Jayasudha has been appointed to select these awards, which are being presented by the government after a gap of 14 years.
A total of 1248 nominations were received for the awards, of which 1172 were in the individual category and 76 in other categories. Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said that these ceremonies will be organized to inspire future generations. The government has clearly stated that the awards will be given in the name of Gaddar, despite all the criticism.
The unveiling of the Gaddar Awards logo has been temporarily postponed due to the death of Pope Francis. It has been announced that the logo will be unveiled by the CM soon.
