A few days ago, the Kochi Customs Commissionerate raided the houses and premises of several celebrities across Kerala as part of 'Operation Numkhor'. The operation was aimed at preventing the unauthorized import of luxury cars from Bhutan with fake documents. The Customs department reportedly seized around 40 luxury cars from industrialists and other bigwigs in the operation.

Malayalam heroes Dulquer Salmaan and Prithviraj Sukumaran are also under the scanner of Customs officials for illegally purchasing vehicles. Dulquer Salmaan's high-end vehicle was also reportedly among the seized vehicles on charges of tax evasion and violation of other rules. Although the news of the seizure spread quickly, there has been no official statement from the actor.

According to the latest information, Customs officials conducted searches at his residence on Tuesday and Dulquer Salmaan has approached the Kerala High Court challenging the seizure of his Land Rover. In his petition, Dulquer had argued that he had purchased the vehicle from the Indian Red Cross by following all the necessary formalities and standard documents.

He categorically denied that there was any violation in purchasing the vehicle. He prayed the court to release it immediately. He alleged that the seizure was arbitrary and illegal. The court adjourned the matter to next Tuesday and sought directions from the customs. The actor claimed that the seized car was in his possession for the last five years and had all the necessary valid documents for it.
