'Drishyam 3' to be released simultaneously in all languages

Malayalam director Jeethu Joseph has confirmed that there were attempts to launch the Hindi version of Drishyam 3 before the Malayalam original. Speaking at a media interaction, he said, “There were attempts to launch the Hindi version first, but they backed out after being warned about legal issues.” He added that the makers of the Hindi version are in talks with him for the final script. “There is a demand to shoot the Malayalam and Hindi versions simultaneously. But, no decision has been taken yet. The script is being written and we hope to start shooting by mid-September,” said Jeethu Joseph.
Recently, Jeethu announced that he had completed writing the climax of the third part. In an interview with The Times of India in June, Jeethu said that there are talks to release Drishyam 3 simultaneously in Malayalam, Hindi and Telugu. He said that all the versions will be based on his script and will be adapted to suit each culture, and denied reports that the Hindi version will have a different story. He said that the simultaneous shooting has not yet been confirmed based on the availability of the lead actors, but the producers are keen on a simultaneous release to keep the film fresh in the OTT era.
Mohanlal will reprise his role as George Kutty in the Malayalam original, while Ajay Devgn will reprise his role in Hindi and Venkatesh will reprise his role in Telugu. The Malayalam franchise, which started in 2013 and returned with a sequel in 2021, will conclude with this third installment. Abhishek Pathak, who directed the Hindi remake of Drishyam 2 in 2022, is returning as director for this film as well. However, there is no update about the Telugu version yet.
