Dispute over property worth Rs 30,000 crore

Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor's ex-husband and former chairman of Sona Comstar, Sanjay Kapoor, died of a heart attack while playing polo in London on June 12. After his death, a serious dispute broke out in the Kapoor family over the distribution of property. Sanjay's children and his mother Rani Kapoor have been knocking on each other's doors in court for property worth about ₹30,000 crore.
Sanjay-Karim's children Samaira (20) and Kiaan (15) have filed a petition in the Delhi High Court. They have alleged that their stepmother Priya Sachdev hid the original will written by their father and showed a fake document. They have claimed that a document dated March 21 was shown as a will at a family meeting held on July 30. "It is completely fake, the original copy was never given," the children told the court. They demanded that they be recognized as legal Class-1 heirs and given one-fifth share of the property each.
On the other hand, Sanjay Kapoor's wife Priya Sachdev pleaded in the court, saying, "I am Sanjay's legal wife. Karisma separated a long time ago. I have a six-year-old child. Please consider my situation too." We have already given ₹1,900 crore to Karisma's children through the family trust. What more do you want?" she asked sharply.
Sanjay's mother Rani Kapoor (80) also approached the court in this property dispute. She said, "Today I don't even have a place to hide my head." She wrote a letter to the British authorities alleging that Sanjay did not die of natural causes, but was murdered. She demanded an investigation into the conspiracy and huge financial fraud behind her son's death.
Sanjay married Nandini Mahatani in 1996 and separated in 2000. Later, he married Karisma Kapoor in 2003. However, they divorced in 2016. After that, he married Priya Sachdev. Overall.. Sanjay Kapoor's family property dispute is taking new turns day by day.
