Just as Ayyappa Swamy is known as a combination of Shaiva and Vaishnava traditions, the character of Veeramallu is also depicted as an incarnation of Shiva and Vishnu. Director Jyothikrishna took the story originally created by Krish and adapted the film in a new direction while maintaining the original philosophy.
