The Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police has arrested Jana Kiran Kumar, a key accused in the piracy of blockbuster films of various languages, including Tollywood, and selling them online. This man, who hails from East Godavari district, works as an AC technician in Vanasthalipuram and works with piracy gangs.

On the day of its release, he would go to the theater, record the film with a mobile camera in his pocket, and sell it to websites like TamilMV and MovieRules through Telegram. Investigation revealed that he took Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 40,000 in crypto currency for each film. He converted this money into money through platforms like ZebPay and CoinDCX.

The Telugu Film Chamber stated that the Telugu film industry suffered a loss of Rs. 3,700 crore due to this piracy affair. Kiran Kumar admitted to pirating about 65 films in a period of one and a half years. These include many big films like 'Pushpa 2, Kalki 2898 AD, Game Changer, Kannappa, Thandel, Single, Sikander'.

Kiran, who completed ITI, previously worked as an AC technician.
