Cloudburst death toll in Kashmir crosses 500

Speaking at the 79th Independence Day celebrations held in Kakinada, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan said that law and order should be strong for investments to come. He said that the coalition government is maintaining peace and security and taking development and welfare forward equally. Pawan Kalyan said that it is everyone's responsibility to guard against the forces that create instability within the country. He advised people to be vigilant about issues like terrorism in Kashmir and corruption in the country.
He said that as part of the promises made by the coalition government, the Super Six schemes are being successfully implemented. He said that financial assistance and free bus travel are being provided to women through schemes like Thalliki Vandanam, Deepam-2 and Stree Shakti. Pawan said that works like CC roads, water tanks, construction of Gokulas, new bridges and drinking water projects are being carried out rapidly in villages. He informed that lakhs of rural workers have been provided employment through the Employment Guarantee Scheme.
He explained that projects such as planting crores of saplings with the aim of increasing forest area, special measures to prevent elephants, and eco-tourism projects such as the Wooden Bridge in Araku have been undertaken. Pawan Kalyan explained that projects such as PM-KISAN assistance to farmers, free bus travel for women, distribution of pensions, jobs for youth through job fairs, and drinking water works under the Jala Jeevan Mission are being implemented. He started the construction of a new cancer block at the Kakinada General Hospital with Red Cross funds at a cost of Rs. 6 crore.
