Big competition in US premieres?

There is a big competition between the films "Coolie" and "War 2" in the US market. These two star-studded films are scheduled to release on August 14, 2025. The premiere shows were scheduled across North America the day before. Since these two big films target the same audience, there is a possibility that the premiere show revenue will be affected. Rajinikanth is known as the king of openings there. His films are usually very popular at premiere shows.

On the other hand.. NTR's last film "Devara" collected 2.7 million dollars from premieres in the US. There are expectations that "War 2" will also surpass this number due to the presence of Hrithik Roshan. However, there are indications that those chances will slow down somewhat due to the stiff competition from "Coolie".

"War 2" production company Yash Raj Films has signed agreements for IMAX screens. This is likely to increase the collection significantly. That too if the audience reception is good. However.. Rajinikanth fans in America.. are likely to attend in large numbers. This combination of Hrithik Roshan and NTR can challenge the dominance of "War 2" despite its star power. And it remains to be seen who will have the upper hand in the US between these two films.
