Breaking box office records is no stranger to Natasimham Balakrishna. Balakrishna has now set a rare record in the world through those films. On the occasion of completing 50 years as a hero in Indian cinema, the prestigious UK-based World Book of Records has announced the ‘Gold Edition Recognition’ award for him. Balakrishna has created history by becoming the first Indian actor to reach this milestone.

It is a very rare thing in the history of Indian cinema to continue as a main hero for fifty years. Recognizing this unique feat, the World Book of Records has included Balakrishna’s name in the Gold Edition, praising his film services. To commemorate this rare honor, a special felicitation program will be held in Hyderabad on August 30. Balakrishna will be officially presented with this award.

Balayya, who made his debut 50 years ago, is still riding high with consecutive successes as a hero. In addition to acting, Balakrishna is also making his mark in politics and social services. The Central Government has awarded him the Padma Bhushan award in recognition of his services.

Balakrishna has acted in folk, mythological and social films and brought those characters to life. For some roles, no one else except Balayya can live in that role to the point where it seems like no one else is set. He showed his uniqueness right from his first film 'Tathamma Kala'. Balayya, who impressed as Abhimanyu in 'Daanaveera Surakarna' in his childhood, has shown outstanding performance in films like 'Akbar Salim Anarkali'. He started his journey as a solo hero with 'Sahasame Jeevitham' in 1984 and gained a mass following in the same year with 'Mangamma Gari Manavadu'.

He created a record by releasing seven films in the first year. He became a super hero within six years. In the next phase, he became a trend setter with diverse films like 'Aditya 369, Bobbili Simham, Bhairavadweepam'. He became the face of Rayalaseema faction films with 'Samarasimha Reddy' released in 1999. He received his first Nandi Award with 'Narasimha Naidu'.

He got closer to the masses with blockbusters like 'Simha, Legend, Akhanda' with the stories told by director Boyapati Srinu. He also proved his mettle in historical films with 'Gautamiputra Satakarni'. He proved his craze once again by scoring hits in a row with successes like 'Veerasimha Reddy, Bhagwant Kesari, Daaku Maharaaj'. Balayya is currently busy with another film, 'Akhanda 2', directed by Gopichand Malineni.
