'Akhanda.. Thandavam' in December itself?

God of Masses Balakrishna's most awaited movie is 'Akhanda 2'. Balayya, who received a huge success with 'Daaku Maharaj' in the Sankranti ring this year, wanted to release 'Akhanda 2' as a Dussehra gift. However, according to the latest industry talk, this movie has been dropped from the Dussehra slot.

The makers, who were planning to release the movie on September 25 as a Dussehra special, have reportedly decided to release the movie on December 18 keeping in mind the latest circumstances. The movie, which is being made with a lot of emphasis on visual effects, has a lot of VFX work pending.

The makers are also focusing on December with the intention of promoting the movie at a pan-India level and releasing it in all languages. While Prabhas' 'The Raja Saab' is releasing in the first week of December, the team is planning to bring 'Akhanda 2' two weeks after that.

Since it is a film featuring the super duper hit combo of Balakrishna and Boyapati, there is a fierce competition between OTT giants Netflix, Amazon and Jio Hotstar for the digital rights of 'Akhanda 2'. These OTT companies are reportedly competing fiercely to get this film, which is coming with strong devotional content.
