Airtel, Jio services suspended in the city

There was a massive internet outage in Hyderabad on Tuesday. Electricity department officials identified internet cable wires as the cause of the power outage in Ramantapur. As a result, a large number of cable wires were removed. As a result of this action, about 40,000 Airtel and 20,000 Jio internet connections were disrupted in a single day. Services were completely stopped in many parts of the city.
Due to the internet outage, IT employees working from home faced severe difficulties. Online businesses and banking transactions were disrupted. Moreover, online classes and video meetings were canceled. They are expressing impatience over this action being taken without giving any prior information to the public.
Electricity department officials said that the cable wires were installed in a way that posed a threat to the lives of people and they were removed for safety reasons. However, the government clarified that talks are ongoing with internet companies to resolve the issue as soon as possible.
Airtel and Jio representatives said that the services were disrupted due to the cable removal, and that our teams are already working in the field and have immediately started steps to restore connections through alternative means.
People and organizations in the city faced severe difficulties due to the disruption of more than 60,000 connections in a single day. Although officials say that the problem will be resolved soon, users are strongly criticizing the suspension of services without prior notice.
