'Mahavathar Narasimha' is at the top of the sensational films in Indian cinema this year. Gone are the days when animation films were limited to children. Now, this mythological drama, which was made in the same animation format, has created a tsunami at the box office.

Director Ashwin Kumar started this project by pledging his assets and investing just Rs. 15 crores. Without any star casting, without big promotions, and with only faith in the strength of the story, the film was made and the result was a real blockbuster.

Released on July 25, the film, with increasing word of mouth, has crossed Rs. 319 crores worldwide after completing 50 days. Of this, Rs. 291 crores were collected in India and Rs. 28 crores were collected overseas.

In this day and age, any film is considered a hit if it runs strongly for two weeks. But 'Mahavathar Narasimha' completed a 50-day run in 200 theaters. This is a rare feat seen again after many years.
