2025 is a historic year for Mollywood

The other two big successes are ‘Yal 2: Empuraan’ and ‘Thudarum’. Of these, Empuraan is leading the way with $13.75 million overseas, while Thudarum has earned $10.50 million. These three films together show that Malayalam films now have a strong global reach and popularity.

What is even more interesting is that a film like Loka was made on a budget of just Rs. 30 crores and became such a huge success. With strong content, global acceptance, 2025 is shaping up to be one of the most amazing years in the history of Malayalam cinema.
