Zero promotions in Telugu.. Zero buzz!

Mythri Movie Makers, known as a top production house in Tollywood, has entered the Tamil film industry. Star hero Ajith Kumar's film "Good Bad Ugly" is being released in Tamil as well as Telugu. There is no need to say how much craze Ajith has in Tamil Nadu. That is why.. this film is sure to achieve good openings there.

However, Mythri Movie Makers has not done the promotion that was supposed to be done for this film. It is surprising that even a well-known company can show such laxity. Ajith Kumar's last film 'Vidamuyarchi' ('Pattudala' in Telugu) was a flop at the box office. So, will Ajith get back on track with this film? There is interest among the fans. But Mythri Movie Makers is not trying to cash in on that interest.

Even though it is being dubbed and released in Telugu, there is no promotion. There are no posters, trailers, interviews... no hype. It is no exaggeration to say that the Telugu audience does not feel that this movie is coming. Trisha plays the female lead in this film directed by Tamil director Aadhik Ravichandran. While the music is by GV Prakash Kumar, the songs also failed to impress as expected.

In this context.. even though it is a film starring Ajith Kumar as the hero.. it is noteworthy that “Good Bad Ugly” hit the theaters this week on Thursday with zero buzz. We will have to wait and see how the film is… but not doing any promotions is risky these days. Let’s see what kind of talk Good Bad Ugly will get.
