Will Manchu's 'Ramayana' work out?
It is known that Tollywood young hero and producer Manchu Vishnu recently made a big-budget film ‘Kannappa’ on a Shiva devotee. Now he is planning to film the Ramayana from the perspective of Ravana. He is planning to tell the story from Ravana’s birth to death, and to have his father Mohan Babu play the role of Ravana, with several famous actors in other roles.
In an interview given to a YouTube channel, Vishnu said that the idea of making a film based on the life story of Ravana came to him many years ago. He said that he had approached Tamil superstar Suriya for the role of Rama, but the project did not go ahead due to budget issues and other reasons. “The script for this film is ready. Legendary filmmaker Raghavendra Rao was supposed to be the director. My father was supposed to play the role of Ravana. The script and dialogues are ready. But I don’t know if I can make this film,” said Vishnu.
When asked who would be the lead actors in a Ramayana film, Vishnu said that Suriya and Alia Bhatt would be suitable for the roles of Rama and Sita. “The role of Lakshmana is very soft. Junior NTR’s elder brother Kalyan Ram would be suitable for that. I would choose Sathyaraj garu, who played Kattappa in Baahubali, for the role of Jatayuvu,” Vishnu said.
