Two Hollywood films enter the 100 crore club!
Although this summer has been dull for the Indian film industry, Hollywood films have created a sensation at the Indian box office. Brad Pitt-starrer ‘F1’ and ‘Jurassic World: Rebirth’ were a huge success in theatres in June and July. Both these films have collected over Rs. 100 crore in India. This is a rare success for Hollywood films in recent times.
The much-awaited DC film ‘Superman’ could not perform as expected at the box office. ‘F1’, which was released on June 27, received a unanimous positive talk from the audience. The film has been playing wonderfully for almost a month. Most screens in India are still running housefull on weekends. ‘Jurassic World: Rebirth’, which released on July 4, has achieved a great opening due to the legacy of the dinosaur franchise.
The film, which was loved by children and nostalgic adults, also entered the Rs. 100 crore club. ‘Superman’, which released on July 12, started with mixed talk and collected only Rs. 55-60 crore in two weeks. Marvel Studios is gearing up for the release of Fantastic 4 this week. It remains to be seen whether it can stop the dominance of ‘F1, Jurassic World’ films.
