The record of 'Pushpa 2' still stands!
Vicky Kaushal's "Chaava", which has completed 45 days at the Indian box office, is approaching the Rs. 600 crore mark. However, as the film is nearing its exit from the theaters, its collections are expected to be minimal. This Hindi film, based on the life story of Chhatrapati Shambhaji Maharaj, could not make the impact it needed to achieve widespread success across the country. Despite earning huge collections especially in Maharashtra, it could not surpass the level of "Pushpa 2" as it did not have much impact across the country.
Allu Arjun's "Pushpa 2" still holds the record of being the highest grossing Hindi film. According to some box office analysts, the Hindi version has grossed Rs. 800 crore. However, some experts believe that the amount is a bit high and the actual gross may be less than Rs. 700 crore. Whatever the truth, it is certain that "Pushpa 2" is the only film to have grossed at that level in the Hindi market.
