Veteran Hollywood actor Val Kilmer has died in Los Angeles . His daughter told to the New York Times that he died of pneumonia. She said that he had been diagnosed with throat cancer in 2014 but had recovered from the disease .

Val Kilmer was one of the highest-paid actors in Hollywood in the 1990s. He rose to fame with his supporting role in the 1986 film 'Top Gun'. He rose to fame in 1991 when he played the role of singer Jim Morrison in the Oliver Stone-directed film 'The Doors'.
