Noted lyricist and director Siva Shakti Dutta (92) breathed his last at his residence in Hyderabad. As the father of music director and Oscar winner M.M. Keeravani, as the elder brother of writer Vijayendra Prasad, and as the grandfather of director S.S. Rajamouli, Siva Shakti Dutta is familiar to everyone in the Telugu film family. As a lyricist, songs like 'Mamatala Thalli, Dheevara, Sahore Baahubali, Ramam Raghavam, Amma Avani' in films like 'Chhatrapati, Rajanna, Baahubali, RRR' are testament to his literary talent.
Siva Shakti Dutta's real name is Koduri Subbarao. He moved to Mumbai with an interest in arts since childhood and started his career as a painter and gained recognition in painting under the name 'Kamalesh'. After learning guitar, sitar, and harmonium, he entered the film industry as a writer.
He gained recognition as a film writer with 'Janakiramudu' in 1988. He directed the movie 'Chandrahas'. It is reported that he recently wrote the lyrics for Chiranjeevi's movie 'Vishwambhara'. Tollywood is in deep mourning after the death of Shivashakti Dutta.
