Producers hold crucial meeting with Balakrishna
The issue of wage hike for film workers has recently become a topic of discussion in the Tollywood industry. The workers have been boycotting shootings for the last three days, demanding a 30 percent hike in their wages. Workers from a total of 24 departments are part of this strike. However, the Producers' Council is strongly opposing these demands. They say that Telugu workers are already being paid higher wages compared to other languages.
In this context, several prominent producers met with Tollywood senior hero Nandamuri Balakrishna. He explained the situation prevailing in the industry. After listening to the opinions of the producers, Balakrishna assured that he would provide his best support for the welfare of the industry. 'The industry will be good only if the producers are good. Workers should be hired only where necessary. Reducing working days will reduce costs. I am also ready to act in four films a year,' he said.
The leaders of the Film Federation also held an urgent meeting and discussed the four key changes proposed by the producers. They are ready to discuss with the Film Chamber issues like call sheet changes, hiring non-members, Sunday work, and fighter-dancer ratio. On the other hand, Megastar Chiranjeevi has already stepped in to resolve this dispute. He has suggested discussing with the producers and resolving the issue within three days.
