'Mahavatar' enters the 300 crore club
We have never had the same craze for animated films as we do in Hollywood. There is a common perception that a film without actors and VFX-based films are for children. But ‘Mahavatar Narasimha’ has completely erased that perception. Despite the lack of promotions, this film, which received a huge success with word of mouth, has now written a new history in terms of collections.
‘Mahavatar Narasimha’ has already created a record as the highest-grossing animated film in India. Production company Hombale Films recently announced that the film has crossed the Rs. 300 crore gross mark worldwide.
Released on July 25, the film has garnered positive talk right from the very first play. The audience was mesmerized by the natural-looking visuals that made people think, "Did Lord Narasimha really appear?". After its success here, it was released abroad immediately and became a blockbuster there too.
Even in a situation where big star films are being pulled from theaters, 'Mahavathar Narasimha' is still running with houseful collections in many centers even after 30 days of its release. It is a privilege that the audience is still coming to theaters. From now on, six more films are being prepared as part of the 'Mahavathar' cinematic universe. The film team is moving forward with the plan of releasing them every two years.
